Engaged People: Stacey and Joe

Meet Stacey and Joe. Stacey is an event planner at The Georgetown and Joe is the executive chef and owner of local restaurant, The Blue Wolf Tavern. Go ahead, ask me how excited I am about this wedding? All of the details are planned by Stacey and the reception will be held at the Blue Wolfe's Banquet Center. I can't wait!!!! It's going to be amazing!

I'm so excited for these two! They are such a cool couple and so in love!  Check out their Q&A and get to know them like I do.

Stacey:
  1. How long have you two been together? Joe & I have been together for about 2 years.
  2. How did you meet? We met at Blue Wolf Tavern. I was a server there and Joe is the Executive Chef and Owner. My friend Jenna (who was also a server) was very good friends with Joe, I call her our matchmaker. There was a spark between us I couldn’t ignore, and there still is!
  3. How did you get engaged? Joe and I got engaged on Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday! We had just finished up dinner and Joe and his son Joey asked me to go for a walk. My family was just sitting down to play a board game (which I hate) so a walk in the cold and rain sounded much better! I could tell Joe and Joey were pretty surprised they didn’t have to twist my arm at all (since I’m not really the outdoors type) but something told me to go. So we started the walk down to the back yard.  My parents have an old barn in their backyard where I used to keep my horse when I was a little girl. Some of my most treasured memories of my childhood are in that barn. As we walked into the barn  Joe started to talk about our future and how excited he was to spend it with me. I still had no idea what he was about to do. He started to get down on one knee and I said “Get up, what are you doing? You’re going to get your jeans all dirty!” The moment I realized what he was doing I screamed! I ran over and hugged Joey, meanwhile Joe was still down on one knew because I was so excited I forgot to say yes! So I finally said “yes” and the rest is history.
  4. What's been the biggest challenge with planning your wedding? The biggest challenge with planning the wedding is our schedules. We are so busy! Planning a wedding is a full time job!
  5. What's the one thing you're most looking forward to on your wedding day? The thing I’m most looking forward to on our wedding day is locking eyes with Joe at the end of the aisle, I can’t wait to marry him!
  6. What's the one thing you're most nervous about? I’m most nervous about forgetting something important on  our wedding day.
  7. What's the best advice you can give to couples planning their wedding? My advice to couples getting married is to not get so caught up in the details, you forget what it’s all about. I have to remind myself of this a lot since I’m an event coordinator for a living, but it’s so important!
  8. List your vendors:

Joe:
  1. How long have you two been together? We have been together since 12:15AM January 1st, 2010. That's 589 days, 8 hours, and 7 minutes of of the BEST part of my life so far!
  2. How did you meet? I met Stacey at Blue Wolf Tavern in April of 2009 after I suggested to my manager that he should hire her. It was good advice. We became close friends and then things moved on from there.
  3. How did you get engaged? I asked Stacey to be my wife on her favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, in her parent's back yard in the rain. My other favorite person, my son Joe, was by my side as I went to one knee in the mud beside her horse barn. She certainly did not expect it that day. She laughed as she didn't know what I was doing and said, "oh baby, what are you doing? Get up. You're getting your pants muddy!" Joe could only smirk as I endeavored to explain that I thought I was supposed to remain on one knee until I had an answer. Fortunately for me, she preserved the memory by promptly answering "YES!"
  4. What's been the biggest challenge with planning your wedding? A Challenge and a Blessing, would be that my wife-to-be is a wedding and event planner. It's so nice to have the feeling that she will make everything perfect! We both need it to be perfect. But... she is better at that than I am! The anxiety derives from the thought of falling short. It doesn't help that I am a HUGE procrastinator either!
  5. What's the one thing you're most looking forward to on your wedding day? Seeing my Stacey walk down the aisle at the Church just to meet me. There's nothing I've thought about more since I met her than about how it would feel, what it would be like.
  6. What's the one thing you're most nervous about? I'm not nervous at all. I only hope that everyone close to us who's anticipated this coming moment can enjoy it as much as I know that we will. We both like to entertain our friends and family and hope that they think we planned a great celebration.
  7. What's the best advice you can give to couples planning their wedding? Plan ahead far enough in advance so that if you, or your fiance, or you're families, or your friends, or your bridal party, or your flower girls (I could go on and on...) change their mind(s), then you have ample time and resources to adjust. Trust me this will happen. Don't procrastinate! Just get it done so it's easier to do over!

Part two of their engagement session was on the boat at Lake Milton. It was a gorgeous day!

I *heart* this one!

See how in love these two are? *swoon*

Don't you just love these guys!? I know I do and I can't wait for their wedding next month!

Cheers,

Married People: Ashley and Matt

Mix the muggiest day of the year with an outside wedding and what do you get? Me looking like one hot mess! Lucky for you I'm not going to show you pics of that! Instead I'll just post pictures of the GORGEOUS bride who somehow managed to stay cool and calm, their BEAUTIFUL outdoor ceremony, and the ever-so-welcomed, air conditioned reception!

Here's their after-the-wedding questionnaires:

Ashley:

  1. How does it feel to finally be married? Awesome! We've been together for a while now, so it is great to finally call Matt "my husband"
  2. What did you do the night before your wedding? In between bursts of rain, we had our outdoor rehearsal. It made for a quick, but memorable event!  Afterward, our bridal party, close friends, and family went to Mulligan's in Canton for our rehearsal dinner and later a few drinks with friends.
  3. What are you planning on doing with your gown? (Selling it, storing it, doing a trash-the-dress, etc) Definitely having it preserved and stored! Too bad you can only wear it once!
  4. What was the most stressful thing on your wedding day and how did you handle it? Probably dropping our dogs off at the kennel that morning to be boarded for the day.  lol, is that sad?  They are like our children and have never been boarded previously.  I balled like a baby!
  5. Sometimes your wedding day can be a blur. Name one thing that you remember most about your day. Walking from the farmhouse, down the isle with my dad, arm in arm, and seeing Matt standing there waiting for me.  It's an image I will never forget!
  6. Is there anything that you would do differently? I can't think of one thing I would change.  From the time spent getting ready, to the ceremony, and reception, I have only the best memories.
  7. Now that your big day is over what one piece of advice would you give to other brides/grooms-to-be? One of the best pieces of advice I received before the wedding was actually from Jaci. She said, "take a deep breath right before you walk down the aisle and again before you go into the reception to take it all in".  That is the best advice ever! I would totally pass that along to other bride/grooms-to-be.  It can go sooo fast!  Take a moment to really enjoy it and let it all sink in.
  8. What thing about the wedding would you like to do again? Everything! I joked with my parents the next day asking "can we do this again next weekend?"  We had a blast!
  9. If I may...talk a little about your Jaci Clark Photography team and how that experience was for you.  Working with Jaci Clark Photography was a dream!  Not only are the pictures amazing, but I really appreciated all the great advice she gave throughout the planning process and the positive attitude Jaci and assistant, Kara, had the day of the wedding.

Matt:
  1. How does it feel to finally be married? It feels good; all the stress and anticipation of that one day are over and we can finally just enjoy each others company.
  2. What did you do the night before your wedding? After the rehearsal dinner, I went with my best man, Bryan, and had a few drinks with friends.
  3. What was the most stressful thing on your wedding day and how did you handle it? The most stressful part was probably the ceremony.  Mainly because I didn't want to mess up any of the lines or forget anything!  I handled it by relaxing as much as I could and repeating the vows carefully.
  4. Sometimes your wedding day can be a blur. Name one thing that you remember most about your day. I remember seeing a bee getting stuck in Ashley's veil as she came down the aisle!
  5. Is there anything that you would do differently? No
  6. Now that your big day is over what one piece of advice would you give to other brides/grooms-to-be? Don't have your wedding outside at the end of July.  You'll be a hot, sweaty, mess!
  7. What thing about the wedding would you like to do again? I would like to experience our first dance again and the garter toss.  It goes fast!
  8. If I may...talk a little about your Jaci Clark Photography team and how that experience was for you.  They were very professional, fun to work with, and offered some really great suggestions for photos!

Make up!

I LOVED her head piece!

Her gorgeous dress.

Aren't these shoes adorable?!

Getting dressed with a little help from her sister, Kendall.

Ashley's dad seeing her in her gown for the first time.

Matt

The guy's gifts were engraved pocket watches.

Love this shot Kara grabbed of the guys chillin' out a bit before the ceremony.

The ceremony

See the white farmhouse in the back? Ashley and her dad walked from there to the ceremony. And she didn't break a sweat!

She did, however, capture a bee in her blusher. YIKES!

Just so you understand, here's the bee while Ashley is walking down the aisle!

It was so hot they both had trouble getting on the rings.

Big sky!

The girls

We were told this tree fell over in a storm about 10 years ago but the branches grew into the ground and the tree continued to grow! Isn't that cool?!
A swing!
Beautiful!
The boys aren't so bad themselves!

Huge thanks to Kara, my second photographer, for coming all the way from California to shoot this wedding with me! I loved having you here and miss you already!

Another thank you to Ashley and Matt! I had a ball. Hope you're having a blast in Hawaii!!!

Cheers,
