Little People: Maeve and Hugh Foster

I have three kids. They are 25, 9, and 7. Could I have another one? Sometimes I think I could. I loved being pregnant. I love watching babies and how they experience the world; how they learn and grow. All the new "firsts". Ahhh. I do miss it! Which is one of the reason I especially love photographing other people's children. I get my baby fix on as my husband says (breathing a sigh of relief. LOL!) I do love a good baby fix!

I first photographed Miss Maeve when she was just under a year old. Now, at almost three, not only has she grown so much but she has a new baby brother, Hugh Foster. (Don't you just love that name?) I cannot wait to watch these two grow over the years! Hopefully I'll get lots more opportunities to photograph these cutie patooties. Until then, check out their beautiful faces.

Hugh Foster!

Gassy smile? I'll take it!

Many things about Maeve have changed over the last couple of years but the one thing that remained the same is her smile! That smile lights up a room.

Flash back to E.T. :)

Cheerio mouth.

Stinky feet!

Family bed!

I'm not sure Dino liked me being there! lol!

Sexy People: Victoria

As soon as I saw Vicki I knew how I wanted to photograph her. She exudes sex appeal, her skin is flawless, and she has "the look". Old Hollywood is where I wanted to take her. I am constantly adding outfits to my boudoir wardrobe and Vicki wore one of the waist-cincher corsets for our shoot. Perfect for the old Hollywood look we were going for.

Vicki was such a natural in front of the camera and truly made my job easy! Check out the final results and let me know what you think! If you're interested in doing a shoot like this too just send me an email to info(at)jaciclark.com or click on "contact" at the top of my blog.

Engaged People: Kaylan and Paul

Put me in a car and drive for approximately 5 hours and I could end up in Chicago, or New York, or my old stomping grounds, Washington DC. This time it was DC. I drove there to meet up with Kaylan and Paul for their engagement session. The forecast was not good. You guessed it, more rain! Luckily, although it looked cloudy, the rain was supposed to hold off so we hopped on the Metro and headed to Farragut North. We were happily surprised upon exiting the Metro that the clouds had parted and it was blue skies and sun for the rest of the day. Too bad I dressed for cooler weather. I was roasting by the time we were finished but Kaylan and Paul were great! They looked fabulous.
After spending an afternoon with them I can say Kaylan and Paul are perfect for each other!  They are getting married in Youngstown, OH on October 9, 2011.

She says:
How long have you two been together?  We met in March of 2010 and have been dating seriously since about June/July of last year.  It depends on who you ask :)

How did you meet?   Paul and I met at work... I was helping a co-worker teach a class on public affairs and social media when I noticed this really cute guy giving me the "eye."  We have a database at work called the Locator that lists everyone's names, pictures and e-mail addresses so I got his name off of his name tag, then looked him up on the locator, and found him on Facebook. I like to call it "light stalking."

How did you get engaged?   We were on vacation in Florida and had just spent 4 days at Disney before heading to Siesta Key Beach near Sarasota.  On Paul's birthday, we had planned to spend the day at the beach, sipping on margaritas and enjoying the sun... Well, it was raining.  A lot.  So we improvised, did some shopping then spent the afternoon at the Daiquiri Deck drinking daiquiris.  Paul wanted to have Chinese food for dinner and was unusually persistent on taking a walk on the beach, so after throwing out "but it's my birthday!" a few times, I agreed to take a walk on the beach.  In the rain.  And the cold.  And the dark.  Anyone who knows me well knows that I have an aversion to inclement weather, so this was a big deal. I threw on sweatpants underneath the dress I was wearing and we took a stroll in the pitch black along the beach, when he suddenly took a knee.

What's been the biggest challenge with planning your wedding?  Overall, we've been very fortunate with planning.  The hardest part has been trying to plan in while living in DC.  Luckily, my mom has been a huge help.

What's the one thing you're most looking forward to on your wedding day?  Having all of our friends and family around to celebrate.  It's really the only reason we didn't elope.

What's the one thing you're most nervous about?  Paul keeps threatening to somehow bribe the DJ to play the list of songs I have banned, so I'm nervous I may harm him if it really does happen.

What's the best advice you can give to couples planning their wedding?
Don't sweat the details and try to remember that no matter what happens, the most important thing is that at the end of the day, you'll be married to the person you love.

He says:
How long have you two been together? Little over a year.

How did you meet? blacksingles.com.....lol.  kidding.  I was training at our training facility in Maryland and we had a class on public affairs.  She came to help teach the class and before I knew it she was stalking me on facebook!!  Apparently she had caught me staring at her in class and she decided to look me up on our social network for the Secret Service.  So she added me on facebook and I thought she was just adding the whole class so I called up my entire class to see if she added them as well.  Well it turns out that I was the only one she added.  So before i added her to facebook, I started to deleted all the inappropriate pictures I had up.  (The class was over what not to put on facebook and myspace.)  I added her and asked what else I needed to delete.  Turns out she didn't care at all what I had up and we started talking through facebook.  We went on a few dates and before I knew it I was in charge of taking her dog out every morning!!

How did you get engaged?  On my birthday at the beach in Florida.

What's been the biggest challenge with planning your wedding?  Paying for everything

What's the one thing you're most looking forward to on your wedding day? Shoving cake in her face.  Don't tell her I said this because apparently she won't be happy if I do this.

What's the one thing you're most nervous about?  Being in front of everyone.

What's the best advice you can give to couples planning their wedding?  When she asks your opinion give it to her but realize in the end it's what she wants!!
