Married People: Ashley and Matt

Mix the muggiest day of the year with an outside wedding and what do you get? Me looking like one hot mess! Lucky for you I'm not going to show you pics of that! Instead I'll just post pictures of the GORGEOUS bride who somehow managed to stay cool and calm, their BEAUTIFUL outdoor ceremony, and the ever-so-welcomed, air conditioned reception!

Here's their after-the-wedding questionnaires:

Ashley:

  1. How does it feel to finally be married? Awesome! We've been together for a while now, so it is great to finally call Matt "my husband"
  2. What did you do the night before your wedding? In between bursts of rain, we had our outdoor rehearsal. It made for a quick, but memorable event!  Afterward, our bridal party, close friends, and family went to Mulligan's in Canton for our rehearsal dinner and later a few drinks with friends.
  3. What are you planning on doing with your gown? (Selling it, storing it, doing a trash-the-dress, etc) Definitely having it preserved and stored! Too bad you can only wear it once!
  4. What was the most stressful thing on your wedding day and how did you handle it? Probably dropping our dogs off at the kennel that morning to be boarded for the day.  lol, is that sad?  They are like our children and have never been boarded previously.  I balled like a baby!
  5. Sometimes your wedding day can be a blur. Name one thing that you remember most about your day. Walking from the farmhouse, down the isle with my dad, arm in arm, and seeing Matt standing there waiting for me.  It's an image I will never forget!
  6. Is there anything that you would do differently? I can't think of one thing I would change.  From the time spent getting ready, to the ceremony, and reception, I have only the best memories.
  7. Now that your big day is over what one piece of advice would you give to other brides/grooms-to-be? One of the best pieces of advice I received before the wedding was actually from Jaci. She said, "take a deep breath right before you walk down the aisle and again before you go into the reception to take it all in".  That is the best advice ever! I would totally pass that along to other bride/grooms-to-be.  It can go sooo fast!  Take a moment to really enjoy it and let it all sink in.
  8. What thing about the wedding would you like to do again? Everything! I joked with my parents the next day asking "can we do this again next weekend?"  We had a blast!
  9. If I may...talk a little about your Jaci Clark Photography team and how that experience was for you.  Working with Jaci Clark Photography was a dream!  Not only are the pictures amazing, but I really appreciated all the great advice she gave throughout the planning process and the positive attitude Jaci and assistant, Kara, had the day of the wedding.

Matt:
  1. How does it feel to finally be married? It feels good; all the stress and anticipation of that one day are over and we can finally just enjoy each others company.
  2. What did you do the night before your wedding? After the rehearsal dinner, I went with my best man, Bryan, and had a few drinks with friends.
  3. What was the most stressful thing on your wedding day and how did you handle it? The most stressful part was probably the ceremony.  Mainly because I didn't want to mess up any of the lines or forget anything!  I handled it by relaxing as much as I could and repeating the vows carefully.
  4. Sometimes your wedding day can be a blur. Name one thing that you remember most about your day. I remember seeing a bee getting stuck in Ashley's veil as she came down the aisle!
  5. Is there anything that you would do differently? No
  6. Now that your big day is over what one piece of advice would you give to other brides/grooms-to-be? Don't have your wedding outside at the end of July.  You'll be a hot, sweaty, mess!
  7. What thing about the wedding would you like to do again? I would like to experience our first dance again and the garter toss.  It goes fast!
  8. If I may...talk a little about your Jaci Clark Photography team and how that experience was for you.  They were very professional, fun to work with, and offered some really great suggestions for photos!

Make up!

I LOVED her head piece!

Her gorgeous dress.

Aren't these shoes adorable?!

Getting dressed with a little help from her sister, Kendall.

Ashley's dad seeing her in her gown for the first time.

Matt

The guy's gifts were engraved pocket watches.

Love this shot Kara grabbed of the guys chillin' out a bit before the ceremony.

The ceremony

See the white farmhouse in the back? Ashley and her dad walked from there to the ceremony. And she didn't break a sweat!

She did, however, capture a bee in her blusher. YIKES!

Just so you understand, here's the bee while Ashley is walking down the aisle!

It was so hot they both had trouble getting on the rings.

Big sky!

The girls

We were told this tree fell over in a storm about 10 years ago but the branches grew into the ground and the tree continued to grow! Isn't that cool?!
A swing!
Beautiful!
The boys aren't so bad themselves!

Huge thanks to Kara, my second photographer, for coming all the way from California to shoot this wedding with me! I loved having you here and miss you already!

Another thank you to Ashley and Matt! I had a ball. Hope you're having a blast in Hawaii!!!

Cheers,
