I've said it before and I'm saying it again...I LOVE when brides personalize their weddings! Lauren and Craig did just that! Everything about their day had a personal touch. Her colors were fuchsia and lime green, she wore her grandmother's veil along with a kick-ass pair of earings that we all wanted to steal, and she let her bridesmaids choose their own dresses. The reception was at the fabulous Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and catered by the equally fabulous, and terrible for my waistline, Big Burrito Company. Oh, and let's not forgot the incredibly yummy cupcake tree from Vanilla Pastry Studio. And guess what? Another shout out for a DJ. This time to Jeremy Ganss who had the dance floor rocking all night.
More BIG thanks to the fabulous Kim Reed for inviting me along to second shoot this incredible wedding!
Lauren and Craig, may your lives together be filled with love and laughter!
The flower arrangements were so unique and beautiful.
After the "I dos", Lauren couldn't stop twisting Craig's ring.

First Kiss.
I love Lauren's smile as she watches Kim taking photos of Craig. And check out her gorgeous bouquet!
The details.
I just love this image! It was taken during the toasts. (Don't you want those earings?)
First dance.
Lauren dancing with her super hip grandma.
Craig's little brother showing off on the dance floor.

Weather or not
Today was the first day of the downtown Farmer's Market. I LOVE that there's a market now on Tuesdays because I'm always working on the market's other day, Saturday. 3:00 rolled around and the kids and I drove down for our first taste of fresh everything. On our 5 minute drive I noticed a very menacing cloud traveling faster than we were. Uh oh. I had a feeling we were going to be in trouble. When we found a spot to park the kiddos bounced out of their seats ready to mingle (the farmer's market is a social event in our city). I decided it was best to wait a minute and see what this cloud was going to bring. Good thing too because not 1 minute after we pulled in, a downpour hit that looked literally looked like someone was on top of the van pouring buckets over us. Then, the wind came. I was very glad we decided to stay in the car. Then, HAIL, then thunder. It was quite the adventure.
Finally, after about 10 minutes, everything stopped and the sun broke through. We decided to make the most of our opportunity and headed to the market. There were plenty of people still there, braving the wet and cold. We got our socializing in and bought fresh blueberries, apples, peaches, tomatoes, and corn before it started to rain again. Luckily, I had my camera with me and captured our adventure.
Hope the weather is better where you are!
The view from our van.
I thought this was rather amusing.
The downtown roads flooded.
On our way home we saw trees down all over! This one in Wick Park actually had the bark blown off.

Wedding: Erin and Derek
A couple Saturdays ago I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Erin and Derek. I have to say that these guys were one of the most fun-loving (and fun to photograph) groups I've done to date! Their entrances into the reception had me rolling on the floor as the couples hiked bouquets and "went long", acted out matador and bull, and ended with Erin putting a leash on Derek and leading him into the venue on all fours. The dance floor was packed all night thanks to Geoff at Hats Off Entertainment. It's not often I give a shout-out to DJ's because I much prefer live music but he was fantastic and I hope to get to work with him again!
Erin and Derek, thanks for letting me be part of your special day! May your life together be filled with joy.
UPDATE: Whoops. I forgot to add the all their lovely details. Here you go.
I love this one of Erin getting ready to walk down the aisle with her dad.

Her sister-in-law was very pregnant.
It was a beautiful ceremony.
Newly man and wife.
My favorite shot of the day.
The guys wanted a jumping shot and we did this about 10 times to "get it right" :)
Leading Derek in on the leash.
The cake smash.

First dance. Another of my favorites.
The father/daughter dance included her mom.
Derek and his mom. (We were all in tears after these dances)
Geoff getting everyone moving.

Working hard
The old saying "Time flies when you're having fun" couldn't be more true. I had a weekend off and spent much of my extra free time working on my new website. I'm happy to announce that the new blog and website will be ready for debut by the end of the month. (YAY!) I'm super excited about this and can hardly wait!! Huge thanks to my hubby who's been helping me with the Search Engine Optimization. He's becoming quite the pro with this :)
The 4th was fun. We spent the day at Blossom Music Center listening to my MIL singing "Carmina Burana" with the Blossom Festival Chorus and Cleveland Orchestra. Blossom is such a great place (especially if you have kiddos). We brought a blanket to sit on the lawn, arrived early and had a picnic, and stayed late to watch the fireworks. Luckily the rain we had that week decided to cut us all a break and allowed us to enjoy the day. It was a great!
Anyway, this weekend is back to normal as I have another wedding on Saturday so be on the lookout for new photos. Have a great weekend!

Wedding: Angela and Rick
I had another wedding with Steph this past weekend. This time it was Angela and Rick's time in the spotlight. Angela was one of those really calm brides (I love these women) who was able to relax and enjoy her day. Everything moved like clockwork and when her moment came, she was smiling from ear to ear. Can I just say now how gorgeous she is? And smart! And has a body you would kill for! Rick has got himself one heck of gal (and I'm pretty sure he knows it).
I had tons of fun photographing your wedding. Thanks for letting me be a part of it!
I've seen bubbles before but never in the shape of a bride and groom. Too cute!
Angela's dress was AMAZING!

Her equally gorgeous shoes.

This is the most unique wedding band I've ever seen. Can you guess what Rick's hobby is? I LOVE it!!!
Angela's waterfall bouquet. The colors were fabulous!
Didn't I say she was gorgeous?
And have a body you'd kill for?
Angela and Rick presented the family with flowers. This is just so sweet.
The ring exchange.
The first kiss.
The flower girl.
The exit.
The 30 foot limo.
Some details.
Listening to the MOH giving her speech.
The first dance.
Angela dancing with her very spirited grandfather.
I just love this one of her dancing with her other grandpa.
