I've been having a great time here in Denver! Skiing was TONS of fun. We headed over to Copper Mountain this trip. I really enjoyed this resort. The slopes are separated by skill level so the advanced terrain is on one side, the beginner terrain is on the other side and the intermediate is in the middle. A novice like me really appreciates not having slopes where the advanced skiers whiz by you a hundred miles an hour.
It's only my third time going so it took me about an hour of practicing to find my "ski-legs" again. I fell on my butt more than a few times too. Let me tell you, there's not a whole lot more embarrassing than falling on your ass down the bunny hill. Once my legs remembered what I was supposed to be doing, I headed for greens (those are the beginner slopes for those of you who don't ski). Kokomo was my friend. A nice, level slope, not too long and not too short, that I could make my wide turns easily on. I was feeling pretty good about myself. Then I realized that my six-year-old's ski school had graduated from the bunny hill and was now coming down Kokomo as well. Falling on the bunny hill might closely be followed by your six-year-old skiing better than you on the beginner hill. LOL! It was great fun, though, and I can't wait for the next opportunity to do this again.
We also visited the Butterfly Pavilion again. My kids just love this place (as do I). Where else can you hold a tarantula named Rosie, pet a Madagascar hissing cockroach and climb on a spider web? From a homeschooling perspective, this place is a dream! We learn something new every time we go. For instance, this time we learned that all Pink-Winged Stick bugs are females. Cool, huh? Nature is quite amazing.
I also had the opportunity to get together with a fellow photographer, Andrea Flanagan. We met at a coffee shop called, Cafe Ink and immediately hit it off. We talked about everything from life to kids to, of course, photography. It's always so nice when you're able to share thoughts and ideas with other like-minded, creative people. Photographers are usually more comfortable behind the camera which means we tend to not have any decent pictures of ourselves so we decided that before I left, we should do a photo swap. You take my picture, I'll take yours kind of thing. This was great fun for both of us. (And gave us a little insight on what we put our clients through. LOL) I'll be posting the shots of Andrea when I get back. Wait until you see her. She's GORGEOUS!
On a final note, here's my updated P-365's. I hope all is well in your world!
Cheers from Denver,
Jaci
